Behavior Management Plan
Expectations
1. Respect others & their property. 2. Remain on task & complete assignments without distracting others. 3. Come to class with necessary materials. 4. Tell the truth & do your best!
Rewards
Each week students have the opportunity to have 30 minutes of Fun Friday. Students will have 6 positive points each week. Each Dojo point is worth 5 minutes each, which is equivalent to 30 minutes of Fun Friday each week. Students can also earn extra points for outstanding behavior.
Consequences
Each nine weeks the students’ Dojo points will restart. The following information shows the order in which consequences for poor behavior will be documented, communicated to parents, and if needed, communicated to the Assistant Principal. 1.) Each week students have the opportunity to have 30 minutes of Fun Friday. Every negative Dojo point is equal to five minutes off of their Fun Friday time. If a student has 3 negative Dojo points in a week, which means they lost half their time, parents will be contacted and the teacher will start the office referral. 2.) The second time a student loses 3 Dojo points in a week the parents will have a conference with the teachers. 3.) The third time a student loses 3 Dojo points in a week the teachers will turn in a office referral to the assistant principal.
*Students can lose points for unacceptable behavior. Please note that some infractions are - 1pt while others are -3pts. The infractions that are -3pts are considered more severe and therefore carry more weight than a less severe offence.

My name is Laura Harp and I teach fourth grade at DPES. This will be my 29th year teaching. WOW!! This is my 15th year in Prattville. My husband, Zack, is a retired Montgomery fireman. Being married to Zack also means I am the stepmother to Andrew and Kyle, a mother-in-law to Mallory and Callie and a grandmother, "LuLu", to James, Caroline, Nash, Nellie, and Anna.
I LOVE being a teacher. I also enjoy meeting my students' parents. I think it is very important for teachers and parents to have a close relationship.
The easiest way to reach me is through email. That is the quickest and easiest way to communicate throughout the day. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions or concerns. My email is laura.harp@acboe.net
